PLEASE, when you are alone, always carry a cell phone or emergency call button!

Three Charbonneau residents have recently experienced falls while alone, which resulted in their being stranded overnight in the cold. Falls are the leading cause of injury in adults aged 65 years or older. A serious fall can result in decreased functional independence and quality of life. If a fall happens when you are alone, the risk of life-threatening consequences goes WAY UP. Threats to your well-being can be lessened by you being mindful of the risks and consistently having an emergency communications device with you whenever you are alone, whether in your home, walking to the mailbox, or going out to the garage for “just a moment!”
